I bought this unit from Midtronics in may of 2014 for over 3,100. I was contracting for cell site installation and the battery tester was required to get the job. I also ordered the clamps with it.
Every few months I would pull it out, charge it up and use it to test an automotive battery as I ordered this equipment with that option. I have never had a problem with it as it is nearly brand new. It offers a less invasive testing approach to reduce battery discharge, voltage measurement skew and to allow for more tests on a single internal battery without recharge.
Custom modules are available to meet battery program needs. The Midtronics cad 5200 silver kit includes standard mode testing and cables drive for excel data transfer battery pack 2 hard shell protective case clamp set ca092 key words cell site battery tester. Everything works excellent. The base unit provides battery conductance, voltage and integrated temperature measurement.
It works great for truck batteries as well as cell site batteries. I tested new battery strings in 5 cell sites and then never used it again for cell sites.
